Today I looked at all of the results we got from the online surveys and analysed them in my previous blog post. I took all of the percentages and used the top results to assume who the target audience are and what they would want in our opening sequence. I came to many conclusions and got a lot of ideas about what the audience would like to see.

Audience Research Summary
Online questionnaire findings
Here is everything we found out about our audience based on the online questionnaires that we got people to participate in. In the end we got thirty people to take our questionnaire.
Firstly, we learnt that 56.7% of people were between the ages of 16-20 and that half the amount of people were male and half were female. We found that most people were still in education (which probably is due to the vast amount of 16-20 year olds). 60% of people's favourite film genre was comedy which helps us greatly because that is our chosen genre. If their favourite genre was not comedy it was most likely action which 20% of people chose. Most people chose comedy because it is easy to watch and can be enjoyed in any atmosphere. Also, you don't have to be paying too much attention and you don't have to watch the entirety of a comedy film to appreciate/enjoy it. We found that 50% of people watch films often and 43.3% of people watch films sometimes which would make our responses more reliable because the people who we gathered to do this have watched many films so they have a better idea of what they are talking about compared to people that watch films rarely. We also found that 86.7% of people view media texts using the internet and that 80% of people view media texts using TV. This is also reflected in how people view advertisements. 83.3% of people view advertisements on TV and 66.7% on the internet. We found that the most popular music genre between our participants is rock which 66.7% of people's favourite genre. Other genres which were also popular were metal (46.7%) and pop (40%). People said that rock fit in with the comedy genre because: "it can change the mood extremely quickly"; "lifts your mood and has the feel good factor that comedies have."
I have come to many conclusions based upon these results that will help us make decisions during the creation process. these results clearly show that our target audience are 16-20 year olds so we will have to assure that our film is a 15 certificate or below. We should also get characters who are around this age to appeal to the target audience. We can also tell by this the best way to advertise our film if need be: TV/internet ads. The results about music genre also help because we can use this to determine which music we use to fit the film if we needed music. Lovely jubbly wakey wakey eggs and bakey
